Friends of Gallocanta Association (AAG) is proud to announce the VIII European Crane Conference, which will be held in Gallocanta (Spain) from 10 to 14 November, 2014.
The Friends of Gallocanta Association, through the VIII European Crane Conference 2014, wants to continue the process started in Oroshaza-Kardoskut (Hungary) in 1985, where it was celebrated the first conference of the European Crane Working Group (ECWG).
This conference is held every 3 or 4 years in different European countries. This year, it is the time to stage it in Gallocanta (Zaragoza, Spain). This village has been selected because it has a Conferences and Tourist Centre with the ideal characteristics for this event.
The main topic of this conference is the comun crane (Grus grus), during five days we will have several scientific communications presented by international experts in each area, as well as roundtables and thematic posters; all this complemented with field trips and excursions to bring to light the rich natural and cultural heritage of the area.
Being aware that at this moment we face a huge challenge, not scientific but economic of national and international scale, we know the participation of many colleagues will be difficult. Taking part of this event answers to the will of not letting die the work developed both in practice as well as in a scientific level in the field of species protection, of keeping alive the attention on everything concerning the conservation, following and protection of the common crane (Grus grus).
